Slight problem due to the later than planned night I had overslept actually I was still asleep . This meant that we would have to drive straight through with no comfort stop and pray for no hold ups on route. The 3 miles to get to the motorway were filled with the usual barrage of questions...have got this? have we got that?, Just before joining the motorway we pulled over as we always do to check the trailer, car and lashing straps again before getting on the motorway. With everything ok the road trip could begin We arrived at the circuit shortly after 7am to find Antonnio (Alfa 155) who we were sharing a garage with already parked up and an RX7 FD35 (Omar also from Wolverhampton) Not only did we not want to come last we did not want to be last in the battle of the west Midlands . This was shaping up to be a good day. With the Bigpower massive in attendance, our new sponsor coming down to watch and now our own mini battle with the west Midlands contingency. What can i say......It was a terrific day we met loads of people from the club too many to list. It was great chatting to you all. The car was going well although we were suffering from straight line speed due to our limited power. Due to our recent problems with the car Bart decided to approach this round differently, we would roll out at the back so that Bart would have a clear track from the off as we wanted to try and set a quick enough time on his early laps in case the car failed us again. This meant he would have to push from the off and wouldn't have time to learn the track. His laps weren't clean and he make mistakes with the car going slightly sideways on more than one occasion. The car started to overheat throughout the day as it decided to pick up more boost than normal. Alan did enough with his limited running and he spit the 2 tuners from Wolverhampton, we were disappointed with our overall lap times but having reviewed the video footage we can clearly see where the time was lost. Alan was pushing hard through the bends going through corum at 90-95 mph but on the straights was shifting up a gear slightly early due to it's over boosting. Then in the qualifying session Herbie decided enough was enough and the head gasket let go. for the time attack we were not allowed to run with our headlight convertion so had to make a system to get cold aur in so got sone piping, cut hole in the side the box and fibreglassed it into place sealing it a elbo was found to fit to the down pipe and have a cone fitted to the end this was not the cone filter fitted but gives you idea how it works and it sits just behind were the fog light should been so a great air intake we decided to get some louvers fitted into the bonnet just above the turbo to get rid heat how ever at £5 pop bart decided to do it himself. after some practive at home they were marked up with template made above holes were drilled into the bonnet to get straight lines ready for groving. groves now put into the bonnet by using a pair of long nose pliers to bend the louvers and then a file to smooth the edges this the end result the bonnet before this one had the evo bonnet vent fitted to it and when started cracking decided to repaire it, however after finding out that last owner used about 8 pots of filler and weighing 4 stone decided to scrap bonnet and start agoing so marked up the evo vent and cut it out the vent was pot rivited all the way round and then fibreglassed all the way round smothered day to get flat primered and checked for any inperfections to correct after painting the bonnet was cover with carbon fibre vinyl which took 7 hours to do bart finished about 5am this was the 4th bumper that i made and it consited of a sierra xr4x4 and BMW M3 bumber they were both cut acordingly bolted and pot rivited together fiberglass was used on the inside and outside to ruse it together to make it stiff bumper was rubbed down and painted. after changing our minds many times we decided to cardon fibre vinyl the bumper this vent was fitted to draw out out above the air box as all it was doing was sucking in hot engine heat and works together with the head light, first off mark were it needs to go 2nd drill some pilot holes for the jigsaw to slot into and start cutting away the vent was taped off for were it had to be sprayed black to follow the line of the graphics then fit it in place this was the 3rd bumper i made XR meets WRC take a sierra xr4x4 bumper and escort cosworth wrc and start cutting the 2 bumpers married up, drilled and pot rivited together fiberglass inner and outer sides to fuse together then filler primer over the top co cover any imperfections all primed up and and the black area's painted then masked off for final coat after 3 layers of paint and 3 layers of laquire this was the end result we needed a strut brace for the car and there wasn't one that woud fit our car because of using a different brake servo and location of the turbo heat shealding so bart used some alloy piping to mark up the size needed pablo took the piping to work and programed the machine to cut and bend a bar, then welded the end pieces in place after being painted was fitted to the car and worked like a charm we needed to fit a rear wing to the car but wanted to retain the original one also so some measurements were taken from the new spoiler and cut into the original one to fit then sprayed black to match the new one both spoiler fitted to the car and we liked the efect it gave this head light cover was made out of fiberglass and a 52mm hole was drilled into it to allow the metal pipe to fit tight to give a direct cold air feed to the intake

]]> Wed Aug 12 2009 Ford fair 2009 http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1743176.html the show that all ford nutters can not wait for. it was a early start to the day so to get to silverstone early and not get caught up in the usual traffic that builds up on the way in. Pablo ventured out on track in the race car and was really really happy with the way the car goes as its the first time he's been out in it for a while but unfortunatly i air lock in the system caused him to finish the session a couple minutes early. A great day out and the sun was shining with a mass of great cars to look at. ]]> Sun Aug 2 2009 engine rebuild (after 5 months of work IT LIVES WAHOO STARTED FIRST TIME) http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1629371.html The time has come now to rebuild the engine and after 2 hard years of thrashing the car at various track days, nurburgring and in this years time attack there have been a few issues along the way that we have patched up to get the car through the year with some degree of success considering what we have found along the way of this strip down and rebuild. new graphics fitted to the bonnet and the new bumper that bart made. the engine all back together and wired up. air induction kit fitted and fuel lines all put back in radiator and intercooler all back in and hoses conected. thermostate housing, pullys, belts and dizzy all conected back in. power steering pump, alternator and braket all fitted back up. fuel regulator and water housing fitted back on, also rockers and rods fitted and all tappet clearences set. heads and inlet manifold back onto the engine, its all coming along quite nicely, wahoo nice clean manifolds on to the heads how long they;ll stay that way we never know engine in was time to bolt up the cross member to the car ang onto the engine mounts engine now in and onto the gear box which was a bit of a pain getting on, time to bolt cross member back up lots ofgood's from burton power, ford and ebay, time to start rebuilding thebottom end wayne and bart cleaning up the surface to fit the front crank/cam cover front crank/cam cover fitted and also sump fitted and sealed bart painted the heads so look nice and clean alternator, power steering brackets painted to match colour coding ofthe engine took cross over pipe off and found this, off to ashley exhausts toget a new one made up herbie with he's backside up in the air ready for the front to be lifted up onto axle stands coming along nicely starting to get into the strip down.; this is not to bad for the what we use the car for, the swerls are were the fuel and air mix but the black sut is were we have been burning oil both air pipes to and from the wastegate were split duo to beiing next to the manifold and this is why year we've not been able to gain any more boost and the boost coming in much later. making a mess of pablo's front garden with the heads off the have been sent away to be converted to unleaded as we had quite bad valve resession in the exhaust ports the front suspention,brakes and drive shafts removed. the shocks will be sent off to avo to be reconditioned bottom front propshaft is the original and is prone to twisting under heavy load on use so the top one is a replacement which even thow the size of it is stronger but yet lighter too. finally with the engine out the main work of the strip can now begin Bart being a child trying to get a better power to weight ratio :-() this is clearly Barts room just look the mess but at least he knows were everything is and what bit came out of which engine. a nice clean block but were undesided whick block we are going to use because of what pistons we are going to get. a bit of lightening to the bonnet to save weight but the mane seems along the edge are still in place to give some stiffness time to rip all this and fit...... .......the oil cooler as this will allow more air to the radiator and the water bottle will be replaced with a XR4I bottle after weighing the old bonnet it came out at just over 3 stone with all the filler the previous owner had put onto it, so decided to do it again properly. evo grill now fitted with pot rivits and fibre glass and now weighs just under a stone, a massive wieght saver. decided to get some louvers in the bonnet just above the turbo to let the heat out and this is the end result shouldn;t have a problem getting heat out with these, all cut and bent into place by bart. HOW MUCH bart put the heads on the scales just to see how much they weigh didnt think it would just come over 4 stone this is a new bumper that bart is working in to give us more air to the intercooler and will have its undertry made up to suit. as you can see here he has mated a sierra top bumper to a BMW M3 lower bumper with splitter the inlet manifold was caked up with oil so ......... ......with bit of cleaning this was the result but just look at that pitting so....... .......with many hours work smoothed it out this should give us better air pflow the inlet manifold was caked up with oil so ......... ......with bit of cleaning this was the result but just look at that pitting so....... .......with many hours work smoothed it out this should give us better air pflow before a clean barts new creation, top half sierra bumper and bottom half BMW M3 bumper all fibre glassed, pot rivited together and primed. after a dam good clean. this is going to replace our original wash bottle that was in the car that made way for the repositioning of the oil cooler.

This was going to be our first visit to this circuit and the weather forecast was not looking good. Practice Session and it was still wet so we left the T1R's on. When Al came back in he reported to me that the car wouldn't rev. past around 4700 rpm so he was having to short shift. We decided to check the plugs and re-gap them. Took the first plug out and it was a weird brown colour so I decided to ask the 'oracle of knowledge' some of you will know him by his other name Gary from APT. He took one look at the plug and said that we were using a fuel additive and that it was fine. Cheers Gary. At the end of practice we were stone dead last and a full 3 sec. off the next competitor, not good. Qualifying.... The plugs had been re-gapped and the weather was looking to be dry for this session. We were having a chat with Duncan and Gary who both said that we would should switch to the 888's. We went back to our gazebo and started looking at the sky. We had decided to switch to the 888's and had changed one side of the car when the heavens opened, we took shelter in the gazebo and waited fro 10mins before making a final decision. 888's it would be. The car was going better the tyres coming up to temperature and Alan steadily getting quicker, until coming out of island bend and under acceleration there was loud bang which as Alan put it sounded like gunfire and everytime he tried to accelerate it did it again. Time to limp the car into the pits. As Alan drove past me in the pits he signalled that all was not well so I ran back to the gazebo to meet Alan and to be greeted with smoke coming out from under the bonnet. Not sure what's happened but the car drove back home with no mishaps. Saturday 5 July 2008: Oulton Park.... a change from the usual of making the tea on barts parcel shelf it was very wet out on track and with the tree's hanging over made it slippery too duncs car after the crash fixing the ball joint and track rod end so at least he could get home. the new nissan GTR some people fell short of the conditions new evo X what a great looking car trying to play hide and seek in the land of jap time to let the car cool down as the sessions were 30 min long another car who hit the armco hard the blue evo also had a encounter with the barrier this is the evo * that iwas only 0.5seconds behind. this is the evo i beat by 5 seconds our mate dunc hitting the armco hard but surprissingly the wing mirror was in one piece and little damage

]]> Sat Jul 5 2008 Time Attack R3 silverstone http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1532501.html As we arrived at the circuit we got a fair few bemused looks from jap car owners as this round was taking place alongside the JTS (Japaneese Tuning Show). Warm up session - and only 10 mins. This turned out to be too short for us and Alan wasn't able to get enough heat into the front tyres. However he still managed to post a time of 1:16.299 placing him 11th in group B . We were very happy with this as inspite of the car being down on power Alan was very confident that he could improve his time by a fair bit. The only incident for us was that a nut that holds the undrtray on had undone itself causing the undertray to flap We decided to remove it. Practice Session - Things were looking good for this session we had a plan as to how we were going to run this session, Team tactics Things were going to plan until an Evo lost his front splitter and the Saab which was following it smashed straight into it. Session stopped. Alan had to pit. The temps had risen a bit so we took the opportunity to check things over all was well. At this point everyone was back out on track, I had been keeping an eye on the runners as I wanted to release Alan into clear air. This was crucial to Alan getting a good lap time as straight line speed we struggle but Alan makes the time up through the bends. I called Alan forward as I was waiting for 3 cars to come onto the main straight unfortunatley he misread my signal and went straight out into traffic Alan soon found himself behind Dave with the lexus is350 and after a couple of laps Alan decided to pass Dave coming into Maggotts. Dave checked his mirrors saw Alan behind him and started to move to the left before the long right hander. At this point Alan had already stuck the nose of the car in Daves space Alan hit the breaks and moved to the left putting 2 wheels on the grass as he was already on the kerb. At this point the offside wheels were now also on the kerb so Alan just thought feck it and carried straight on bouncing over the kerb ..... Things were still going well and Alan had taken another second off his lap time, then it happened - The Evo crash. As Alan exited Luffield he saw the evo coming up behind he knew that this driver was pushing hard as he had seen him on more than one occassion put two wheels on the grass. Alan moved over to give him the racing line however he drifted wide and got all four wheels onto the grass at this point Alan was still on the right hand side of the track. The driver lost control and span out shooting the evo across the track and slamming into the pit wall, missing our car by feet. A very hard impact but the driver walked away unhurt. Qualifing - This was it and we were ready.........Nooooooooo. the car wouldn't start We worked frantically trying evrything to get tbe car started but no joy. ]]> Sun Jun 1 2008 Time attack R1 Donington park http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1506062.html Time attack round 1 Donington park This is the first round of the time attack and it was a 5am start and was greeted by 6” of snow and ice roads not fun when you have toyo R888 slick tyres on the car. Once we got there Bart went for his briefing and Pablo, Wayne and Bhav sent the car for scrutineering. First session was free practice and Bart went out to get feel of the car and when came back in mentioned not getting enough front grip so less down force required on the back. Second session was warm up and was also being time Bart still had a slight front grip problem with his best lap time being a 1.34.9 so Pablo went and spoke to toyo tyres and recommended we run 25PSI in the tyres. Third session was qualifying with 20 min of out and out driving and with the changes to the car it felt better and Bart took 4.1 seconds of his previous best lap doing a 1.30.8 this was not enough to get to the finals. Having now done the first round our ambition is to not come last as there are some very fast cars out there and we have the least brake horse power out of everyone by a good margin but Bart came 4th from bottom beating a Nissan skyline R33, Mitsubishi evo 5 RS and a Lexus IS350. A big thanks to Wayne (Bart’s brother) top mechanic and Bhav for taking loads of pics of the day. ]]> Sun Apr 6 2008 Bedford autodrome http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1464998.html the first track day of the new year and what a track bedford is, its a 3.8mile circuit with all types of bends,chicanes and a 1km straight what more could you want. We used bedford as a test day for all the parts we had fitted to the car and parts we had made for the car. It was a very success days testing with positive results even though one part did snap but to a positive effect. It was good to see our mate coyote (kev) join us at our first track day of the year hope to see you at many more mate. ]]> Tue Sep 22 2009 XR4 Register restoration show http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1400926.html At the start and end of every season the XR4Register crew attend the restoration show at Stoneleigh park were we work on somebodys car and this year it was time for my XR4i to be done. The work we had planned for my car was to sort out the underneath of the car cleaning up the rust, treat and repair the bad bits and as anyone knows with cars from the early 80's they like to rust. once the rust was treated the car was painted with silver hamerite paint under neath. also on the list was to replace the front shocks as they were starting to look really bad but not dangerious so we changed them but when refitting one the callipers one the bolts snapped. the car still has bit of painting to be done but at least its been started and looking good. the day before we went down to set up the stand ready for the next day cars, pablo's MG ZT 190, Barts green sierra GT 2.0i, Bhav's white sierra XR4i 2.0i and barts red sierra XR4i 2.8 time to start scraping away the old wax oil to see what was underneath it hopefully metal thankfully this was the worst of the car only surface rust.............. ........so was treated with rust nutraliser............... ...........and went black and solid ready for paint with the fuel pump craidal treated it............... .........was time to start painting right alan this is how you take the hub off the shock think you can do it errrrrrrr............... ..........show me again just how to do it so i get it wright shock off dont cry al it will go back together to me to you Bhav fitting the new shock to the car the new shock fitted now there is a tyre ive not used before starting to look good now Bhav's 1990 2.0L DOHC XR4i and Barts 1983 2.8 V6 XR4I CLEAN not looking to bad looks quite bling only thing now is to keep it this way nothing need touching here thanks you is that paint in my hair or am i getting old snapped bolt are such a pain we did have time to talk to people about what we were doing to the car time for a couple of fancy shots some guys building a replica capri racing car TR8 it was dark the time we left the venue and what a moon to be greeted by stand ready for the next day to start work car alreaby on axle stands ready for work start of the day the underneath of the car this is the back end of the car

]]> Sun Oct 28 2007 Trax 2007 http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1365446.html Trax is the last big car show of the season for us at silverstone with a mass of cars from all over the globe, from the usual jap cars to the totally unusual sight of a hillman imp out on track. This show brings a massive crowd and the traffic is a real problem, so it was a 5.30 start to get there early. With all 3 cars all packed up (sierra GT, XR4I and Janspeed turbo) we were off. unfortunatly just before corley services a car had crashed and gone off the road so we had to sit there for an hour & half before we could move. Once we started to move again time was tight to get there in time for our briefing to go out on track, but we made it with only 10 min to spare. We found out that we were doing the 3.2mile grand prix circuit so we got the car all ready and Pablo went out on track for his 20min session but only got 15min because of a few cars going off. Bart went out for his session out on track and again the session was cut short because of somebody going off so only got 4 laps in. For our 3rd and final session we flipped a coin to see who would go out Pablo won the toss but he told Bart to go out so he went out for the last session. This time the start was delayed by 5 min due to oil being spilt on the track so again that was cut short. All in all it was a good day but think that there should be some kind of order to sessions ie novice, intermediate and advanced because there is potential for a serious crash with slow and very fast cars out on track at the same time. As for the car she ran faultlessly all day and we were very pleased with the performance of the engine, brakes and tyres which now seam to have scrubbed in. this is the traffic normally reserved for silverstone we were here for a hour half but it was nice to see the sun rise pablo mixing it with a veriaty of cars pablo coming up to a fair few cars infront ryan from top boss brought his home built saxo turbo and goes like stink barts 2 cars on the club stand XR4I and 2.0i GT XR8 finally made it out to a show top boss's 24v cosworth twin turbo err bit over doing it with the tape i think the mental P100 out again pete brought his TVR as a belt went on his XR4I V8 our mate penfold having a kip its a hard life at these shows bart catching and passing XR3i turbo with 240bhp car looks quite clean to me i want this car a fast and furious stile evo

]]> Sun Sep 2 2007 RS national day-Rockingham http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1351749.html this was one event we were looking forward to when it was anounced that it would be held at rockingham as this would be a level playing field for all. we were only doing half a days track time as there were race meets set up for the afternoon. when we arived at rockingham it was raining hard and we did wounder if the track would be open for track time so we went to the briefing and they did say we would be out on track so got back to the cars and fitted the Uniroyal rain sport tyres as these would suit the conditions. we went out on track for our first session and the car gripped well but with some greasy patch's and this caused us to slide a bit which was fun to do. this allowed us to pass some more powerfull cars than us, i surpose 280 pounds of torque does help. second session we put our Kumho track tyres on as the track was drying out as the rain had stopped, in the early part of the session bart was treating it as a drift session as the car would happily 4 wheel drift but then the tyres started to grip and it was time to chase some cars. third session was a dry one and the car was sticking to the track really well with no twitching through the bends but towards the end of the session the car started to smoke and stutter. the smoke only happened when turning right (oil surdge need a baffle sump) and the stuttering only happened when turning left as the fuel was being forced to the right so the fuel pump couldnt pick it up. Just like donnington our car is well suited to this track as its not a out n out brake horse power track and its torque you really need and we have a good supply of that. first thing to do was to change the track tyres for the uniroyal rain sport tyres make sure you put those wheel nuts on tight you know what your like at the start of our first session it stopped raining so we put the kumho track tyres back on waiting to go out in the second session us passing the norris motorsport escort RS turbo Barts sierra GT being used as the surport vehicle to carry spare tyres,tools and the most important the the tea stuff track car taking a good rest after taking a good thrashing out on track. err think he has gone bit overboard with the masking tape this is something different and really looked well on the car. a great replica of the mondeo touring car from the mid 90's a mate of ours focus ST170 he's only had it a week and got 3rd place for cleanest car. ascar racing and these cars really sounded nice getting in with the action and mixing it with some quick cars not quite sure why he was here maybe to give out fines for speeding in the pit lane off we go again followed by some fast cars in the dry we were doing 115mph round the banked curves bart done a great switch back move to pass this noble M12 we were told to only pass on the straights oops dont think someone was listening mention no names but he did pass the volvo 850 before the hairpin xr4x4 janspeed turbo and the volvo 850 both hunting down the norris motorsport escort RS turbo

]]> Sun Aug 19 2007 nurburgring 700 day 4 and the aftermath http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1344572.html It was a bright sunny morning that greeted us for our long drive back so it was time to fill the car up and meet up with the guys with the focu ST. Our journey started off well travelling through some lovely valleys and village's. once we were on the autobaun we just kept at a good speed and was making good time as we gave ourselves 6 hours to get to dunkerque but after about a 100 miles our problem came back and lost all power again and it was a struggle to get up slight inclines so pulled over to see if we could fix it as we had about 200 miles still to go. After a quick stop we were back on the road and all seemed well, but then it happened again but this time it would not make a difference what we did to the car it just didnt want to play ball, we were about 80 miles away from dunkerque and time was running down so just tried to drive as hard as we could around the problem. WE made it to dunkerque at 14.59 and checkin closed at 15.00. while waiting to board the ferry pablo called the RAC to ask them to meet us at dover to see if anything could be done to get us home. we boarded the ferry and went to get some food and drink to refuel ourselves after the stressfull journey. When we docked in dover the RAC were waiting for us and they looked at the car but couldn't tell what the problem really was so we got the car trailered home having to do a swop over of trucks at thurrack services were our journey began. Day 5 the aftermath. After a very late night and a early start we went up to our sponsor topboss performance to see if he could tell us what the problem was and true to form he came out with the news we didn't want to hear WE HAD BLOWN THE TURBO (bart has a cry) so off goes fitz and comes back with a brand new T4 turbo and say "go on stick that on there" bart had a look at the new shiny turbo but noticed the mounting braket to the manifold was different so it was time to think of a way to make a early 1980's turbo fit onto a 2007 turbo. A solution had been drafted up so bart and ryan went to work as they come from the same school of this will fit. After a few hours of trial and error and some nifty fabrication it finally fitted and all put back together and working fine so now we have a one off turbo of a T4 front housing and a TO4 rear housing. Final thought is that after all this we have unfinished buisness with the nurburgring and will be back to reign and concour early next year. passing through some lovely villages passing through some lovely green valley's smile you misserable sod and have a dam shve passint the michael schumacher gokarting school just making a quick pit stop but i dont see any service station we made it to checkin with onlt 1min to spare bording the ferry back to dover the car looking very tired after its long ordeal. saying goodbye to dunkerque wonder were he has come from going through customs the RAC were there waiting for us as we came off the ferry after a bit of damage the duct tape came out, no race car is compleat with out it all loaded up not a nice sight at all. we got to this recover depot and they were going to give us a loan car to get home but we insisted that the car came home with us tonight after a trip to thurrack services we swopped trucks for the rest of the journey back bart keeping a close eye on things bart starting to take the front part of the broken turbo off the evidence is clear a broken blade and the ends had melted slightly fitz cheching that the new T4 turbo will sit inside the TO4 rear housing right time for the boys to get to work making the 2 turbos into one a brand new T4/T3 turbo soon to be split up bart fitting the new turbo moving it thiss way..................... .............and that way but it went in and fitted well just need a bit of filing to get the janspeed front housing to fit over the T4 turbo this is now a one off turbo T4 front and TO4 backing oil feed fitted and ready to go

]]> Mon Jul 30 2007 ford fair 2007 http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1341483.html this is the main ford event of the year were you can find vertually any ford you want and this was the first aniversary for the track car after we revealed it to the club last year. we left early for ford fair as getting into silverstone can be a nightmare with a mass of traffic. we got on our stand and we were the first ones there so had our ritual morning cup tea just to start us off. after setting up the club stand we went for our briefing and to get our rist bands. our first session was at 9.40 and even thow the sun was out and no clouds it was still quite a fresh morning, perfect for the track car. bart went out and was giving some more powerfull cars a run for there money but on occasions there was alot of people getting in each others way. after tacking a walk round the show it was time to take our cars down the 0-60 pablo in the track car and bart in his XR4I. pablo done a 8.03 to 60 and that is good as this was his first ever attempt at doing so, bart done a 9.36 to 60 2tenths slower than last year but did have a boot load of stuff. as the day went on the weather was just getting warmer and warmer getting to 30 degrees with a slight breeze and getting humid. our second session was at 15.40 and we hoped for it to cool down a bit but this never happened, bart went out again and again gave it his all but due to the humidity the car didnt like it and started to miss fire a bit and there was only a few minutes left of the session so came in not to damage the car. over all it was a good day at ford fair but bart does have a very red back, think thats going to hurt in the morning. ]]> Thu Jul 26 2007 nurburgring 700 day 3 http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1340011.html the day started off nice and sunny but then the weather turned wet again it seemed like we had brought the british weather with us. we headed up to the nurburgring just to see what was going on and hoping it would clear up.when we got there we went into the cafe for a morning cup of tea and got talking to a couple of guys who were on the trip. after a hour or so it was raining hard so we headed back to adenau for something to eat. the weather cleared up a bit so headed back up and it started to rain hard again so just sat in the cafe to wait for a break in the weather. after a while it stopped raining so we thought lets just go out. Bart went out for his 2nd lap and as soon as he hit the track the heavens opened and the track was very greasy like driving on ice. Half way round the car lost all power like the previous day and again limpt the car back and this added to the frustration for bart as he know he wouldn't be able to go back out with this continuing problem so we went and got our nurburgring stickers for the car and a look around. we took the car back and got changed for the bbq the event organisers had laid on for us and for the presentation. bart dround his sorrows in plenty of beer. time to park up and go for a cup of tea audi R8 now thats a car you dont see every day i wounder if this will fit in the track car this cosworth enjed it out on track this evo looked so nice the photo does not do it justice as it had a total carbon fibre look the weather for the whole day a evo estate a very rare car indeed bart out on track taking it easy as you can see it was raining and very wet we didnt take the car in to the carrasel as the bumper would have been left there the mini carrasel we did go in that thought we would take some fancy shots my splitter is lower than yours love this number plate the bog was backwards nurburgring 700 far better than just having nurburgring wrote on a alloyed wheel the ring sticker looks quite at home here

]]> Sun Jul 29 2007 nurburgring 700 day 2 http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1339273.html after having far to much beer the night before it was another early start at 7am. first jobs of the day was to check the oil and water levels and to fill the car up with fuel. we made our way up to the nurburgring for our 8am briefing with the organisers. there briefing was invaluable and as it was raining they did say that the track was very greasy. after the briefing we got our 8 lap ring pass and as the track was wet we thought we would go out as it was quirt and we would take it easy. so out came the bullit camera and we set it up. Pablo went out for his first ever lap to get the feel of things with bart as a passinger. the track was very greasy indeed and as bart had spent most the week on his playstationwas giving him directions. Pablo's lap time in the wet and greasy conditions was 13min 47sec and that was a very respectable time indeed. bart went out for his first ever lapof the ring and was tranfixed on the lap on the track, the track was still wet and greasy in most place;s but on couple of occasions there was a slight dry line but still greasy and encounted a few crashed cars which brings home the reality of how dangerous the track is. when we came off barts lap time was 12min 54sec so as for taking it easy i dont thinks so but the car did start making a whining noise. we waited till the afternoon to wait for the track to dry up and it did nicely so pablo went out for his second lap all started out well but with the car making the whining noise about a 3rd way round the car lost all power and limpt it back to the car park and also lost the fans but after timing his 3rd of the lap he was 40sec up on his last time. we had a look at the car and thought the air metering unit was sticking (see day 4/5 for real reason) so we went back to the hotel to tinker with it. on the night we went out for food and some more beers and it was yet another late night. As more and more cars turned up it was apparent that we were out of our league but yet since when has that bothered us, we like the challange. the excitement was starting to build. after looking around at all the cars we went to the briefing. the organisers did say that the french,Belgium and german police were expecting our invasion. as stated in the briefing this was NOT a race, however when we got to adenau we would be given a number in cronalogical order (not a race hum). at the end of the briefing we were told that we needed to be at dover no later than 11.15,50 miles away, and to take our time getting there but as soon the briefing was over, like in true le mans stile everyone ran to there cars. the early morning air echoed to the sound of tuned engines. the drive down to dover seemed to pass very quickly indeed before we new it we were there. when bording the ship we parked on the level deck due to the front of the car being so low the splitter scrapped getting on. after 2hour trip from dover to dunkerque it was time to take the 300 mile journey through through france,begium,germany and the bottom corner of holland. we were the 3rd car off the ship and could of got a good head start over the other cars but we waited for the 2 guys from max power in there ford focus ST as they had sat nav and been there before. the start of the journey was a good trip as there was no traffic but as soon we got to brussels, grid lock as there was a 3 car incident, but the guys in the focus ST managed to sort out another route and the rest the journey was trouble free. when we got to adenau we checked in to get our number and was shocked that we came 54th out 100 as we didnt take a straight route there as to avoid any conflict with local police. after checking into our room it was down to the local pizza restarant for food and some bitburger beer. all ready and waiting to go its just us that need to wake up crossing over dartford bridge on a nice clear sunny day we hope for the same at the ring ford boys stick together spot the odd car out were off for the 50 mile journey to dover no body was hanging about a sweet roush ford mustang on the trip RS500 cosworth with gold alloys on one side and silver on the other and has been featured in performace ford magazine this was a expensive cargo of cars and.......... ......the cue went on bording the ferry at dover nissan skyline r34, lotus, and sierra xr4x4 turbo all 3 us on the trip a lovely noble M12 and we are off and away for the 2hour trip across the see the ferry we just got off at dunkerque first 3 off the ferry parked up on the side waiting for the focus ST this was the car we followed all the way to the nurburgring were here yeah 54th out of a 100 not bad at all

]]> Fri Jul 27 2007 donington park track day http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1305667.html it was nice to be back at donington park as we had changed a few things on the car and this was the best place to test them and the conclusion from this was that we can carry more speed through corners now. joining us out on track was a mate from one the clubs we are with he also has a sierra XR4X4 striped out track car. he had not done the track for about 6-7 years and was egure to get out. once he got to grips with the track he had a whale of a time and the massive grin on his face was plane to see. we had so much fun following each other round swoping and changing places that we are thinking of doing it again in the future as its more fun to be out with friends with the same type of car/performance/driver skill. there was a mass of cars there today ranging from a mini to a ford GT40. getting there early really pays you get to grab a garage off out for the first session of the day this car used to be owned by a guy stuart used to know a good mixture of cars out on track the only 2 MG's there on the day (we want to be together) carny have to many spare alloys now are you texting or timing laps???????????????????? coming in after some fun out on the track this guy was not hanging around with his ford GT40 off you go boys and play nicely or ill take your toys off you. a good picture of out new rear wing to cut out the oversteer we were having through fast bends pablo closely followed by stuart in his XR4X4 1 of 5 inported M3 BMW's out on track now there is somethink you dont see everyday a sweet ferrari a standard looking cosworth looks so good as so many of them have head lights and alloys changed

Top boss (Fitz-sponsor) brought his car to this event and we thought that for a larf we would go against him knowing that we wouldn't be able to beat him on times, pablo done 2 runs against him and everytime he got the jump on him but once fitz was able to get the power down he was off like a rocket. pablo's first run was a very close call with fitz just beating him by a couple car lenghts but the second one the car bogged down a bit and fitz got it right and pablo done some very good reaction times. bart went out in his sierra 2.0 GT and gave it his all as his 2 runs were against a 3.0 XR4x4 and a 2.8 XR4x4, he had a 100% record to keep and was adiment to keep it so made sure when the lights went green he was gone and after the 2 runs he still has a 100% record. barts 3rd run was against fitz and he also got the jump on him but as per before once fitz got the power down he was off, roll on next year revenge is sweet. GO............... ........looking close so far mk2 escort running a 24V cosworth engine 2 very fast mk1 escorts a lovely mk3 cortina 3000 GT capri bart's GT rearing to go and looking good with the big power logo on it 3000 GT capri the XR4I taking a rest this year but will be out for next year im in love gengis's XR4X4 twin turbo in the concours section, it really should be find the dirty spot because ull never find one on this car it is cleaner than when it came out the factory a original RS200 and was doing 11.8's up the strip this is a regular sight on the ford seen a very quick RS200 indeed the poor GT needs a rest after her good loving on the strip the bumper was a bit low on the track car so had to take it of each time we left the club stand pablo ready to rol out bart racing to the start edging to go for it bart sierra 2.0i GT V Marcus sierra 3.0 XR4x4 take your marks ...set....

spare pair of tyres to go on the car spot the odd one out? who looks a happy chappy with his efforts and having a whale of a time doing so Mr staples taking his 2.9 XR4X4 out for beating talk about a miss match of alloys the scoobys did have a problem with understeer due to the natural set up of the car queing for first run out janspeed turbo and 2.0l GT a lovely looking mustang cosworth powered RS2000 a sweet looking nissan skyline R33 2 sweet looking cars so went back and put my 17 also having a quick fag break even the best can get it wrong sometimes understeer.......... oversteer now trying to hard to who cares its all good fun out on track getting the feel of things trying to get the back end out of the car but would not happen getting some good angle on the car through the bends

]]> Wed May 9 2007 RS show santa pod http://tntracing.fotopic.net/c1261997.html this was our first action show with xr4register club and what a good day it was to. bart went out 3 times and pablo went out twice. one of my favourite cars of all time (bart) is the sierra RS500 and went up against one on the 1/4 mile strip and beat it by 0.18 sec so was happy with that. after watching a few of the RS guys we have noticed that we could run with some them who were running the same kind of times as us so next year we will be go up against a few. a very early morning start xr8 V8 and xr4x4 2.8 janspeed turbo barts 2.0l GT and pikeys xr4x4 2.8 V6 come on spot the difference a mental 2.9V6 P100 and barts xr4i 2.8l V6 set on the rollers pikey mk1 xr4x4 124bhp and 193 nm torque mouldytbags xr4i 24V cosworth 206bhp 245 nm torque a very loud V6 P100 143bhp and 184 nm torque marcus 148bhp and 193 nm torque turbo problems so no run john b xr4x4 2.0l turbo gengis 4l V6 212 bhp and 289 nm torque xr8 5l 237bhp and 277nm torque 116.8 bhp and 160.1 nm torque later inspection into why such low performance showed that the headgasket had gone and the back box had cracked all the way round so poor back preasure xr4i 2.0l cosworth 286bhp and 370nm torque xr4i 5l V8 264bhp and 367 nm torque jaguar s type supercharged 4.2l 328bhp and 470nm torque track car and GT together 2 nissan pulsurs and a skyline r33 GT giving it loads conversion from nm to lbf torque a mint mk1 xr4x4 taking her place for action 202bhp and 293 nm torque 127.1 bhp and 175.2 nm torque figures for track car graph for track car.
